i like pinocchiop a lot, but somehow this one flew under my radar until recently. its really an earworm, and i also love the music video (my favorite part is when she rips the skin off her face). i've never translated a song before, and i thought the official lyrics were a bit iffy at times, so i decided to give it a shot and try to make my own translation. i did try to minimize my own interpretations in the lyrics, but some amount of that is always going to be present. regardless, i hope you enjoy!

i spent a surprising amount of time mulling over how to translate this seemingly really simple line. the literal translation would be "are there internal organs?" and although the song's message of "we're all the same on the inside" is clear, i do think at least part of the charm of the song is how matter-of-fact and kind of jarring this line is. i originally drafted a translation like "don't we all have organs?" but i felt like it was changing the tone a bit too much. i'm content with this translation but i do think there are other ways to translate it that might arguably be better

i took some amount of creative liberty in the second half of this line by translating 食べる ("to eat") as "feeds on," but i think it emphasizes the strangeness of 肉体 ("my body") being used as the subject of the sentence

this is one i struggled with, because the phrase "塞翁が馬" seems to have a fairly negative connotation, and the line also explicitly applies this phrase to "everything". i think "the future is uncertain" would be more accurate, especially given the yin and yang imagery in the video, however i think the translation i went with does a better job getting across the emotional emphasis being made in the original line

i also wanted to point out what might seem like a weird detail in the music video, where miku's head is replaced with a horse during this line. the phrase being used here is a figure of speech, the literal meaning of which roughly translating to "the old man's horse." my bit of googling seems to say it comes from a chinese folktale regarding the uncertainty of the future. anyway, hopefully this makes the horse imagery make more sense

the use of 君 ("you") here feels weird to me, as it makes the line second person. i considered instead phrasing it as "you continue to be happy, you bully" as that sounds more natural to me, but i thought it kinda made it sound like the intention is that you're being called a bully because you're happy, which is not how the line is written

the literal translation is something closer to "clicking your tongue on the inside but bowing repeatedly on the outside," but i decided to go with a less literal translation as i think it sounds less awkward

i'm cold and heartless, and unkind as well, but

a literal translation of this line is "i don't bleed, i don't cry, and my level of kindness is insufficient" but i think this feels better in english even if slightly inaccurate

喧々諤々やっても結局は結果がすべてだった？
complain all you want, but aren't the results all that matter in the end?

the line actually says something more like "act in an uproarious manner" but i assume this is what is meant by that
